Now that I'm going back into book blogging, I had to start with one of my favourite blog posts to write: all about my most anticipated books of the upcoming month! Oh boy, I missed writing my Grabby Hands posts, you have no idea. Anywho, let's jump right through in with the books I'm more excited to read in April.
April 4th
Defy The Stars (Untitled, #1) by Claudia Gray - I have to admit that I don't really know anything about this book. It's just that I loved Claudia Gray's previous trilogy, Firebird, and I'm craving for more. If I recall correctly, she also wrote a Star Wars novel, which means... She's amazing at writing science-fiction. I'm not even sure I read science-fiction since I finished A Million Worlds With You, tbh.
Alex, Approximately by Jenn Bennett - I added this book to my TBR because I saw glowing reviews about it. The summary made me think of P.S. I Like You by Kasie West, so obviously, I need it. It seems like such a cute, fluffy, guilty-pleasure contemporaries and that's what I love to read around this time of the year.
Shadowcaster (Shattered Realms, #2) - by Cinda Williams Chima - I'm still pissed by the cover change. WHY, HARPER TEEN? This series had matching covers with the first one so I don't get it. I'll probably buy the UK paperback so I can have the TRUE cover. Sorry, I'm calming down. Okay, I love Cinda Williams Chima's books and I can't believe my boyfriend had to make me read Seven Realms, which is amazing. I love the first book in this new series, Flamecaster and have been dying to get my hands on its sequel for a year. This is probably one of my most anticipated books of the year. CAN'T WAIT.
April 11th
Given to the Sea by Mindy McGinnis - What can I say except you're welcome, I have a weakness for high fantasy. I still haven't read anything by Mindy McGinnis (but I'm interested in some of her books), I need to remedy to that. This cover is absolutely gorgeous and the sea always intrigued me, I'm definitely curious.
The Upside of Unrequited by Becky Albertalli - I feel like I read Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda ages ago, when it got me out of a reading slump. Because it was that good. Anywho, I'm really happy that we're finally getting another book by Becky Albertalli and I'm so excited, because I'll be in a contemporary mood soon-ish, as Spring time is upon us (well, it's raining as I'm typing this, but who cares?). From what I've heard, this book has a diverse cast of characters and a sibling relationship (I love those).
Alex and Eliza: A Love Story by Melissa de la Cruz - Of course, I need this. I've never been interested by this author's books before, but now that they announced a book about Alexander Hamilton and Elizabeth Schuyler, I'm on board. I hope it's good. I don't need to know anything else, tbh.
Which book are you most excited for in April?
I am so excited for Defy the Stars, Given to the Sea and The Upside of Unrequited! Thank you for reminding me of the great books coming out this month!
