Wherein a lot of food is involved | February Wrap-Up and March TBR

And... February has come to an end! Time is flying by and we're getting closer to Spring, I'm so happy! Days are getting longer which is way much more enjoyable. In March, I always get too excited and put on my summer clothes. Then, I am very, very cold. Let's hope I won't make this mistake again, haha.

I had such an amazing month, it had nothing to do with January, which was crazy! My boyfriend finally came back from his semester in Germany, for good, so of course it was a happier month.

He came back the first week-end of the month, it was also his mom's birthday, so we had a brunch, it was delicious, but I totally forgot to take pictures. The worst part is that we went running before it so we had nothing in our bellies! But well, at least I'm doing sports... For the first time in three years!

Deadpool behind a parisian bus.                     My boyfriend's dog,                                       With my boyfriend <3
I still haven't watched the movie.                      wondering why I'm
trying to take a selfie with her

My birthday was on February 12th and I turned twenty, guys, I'm getting pretty old, right? I had an amazing day, I couldn't have asked for any better. I went to the swimming pool with my family and then had a dinner with my whole family, my best friends and boyfriend. I was so spoiled, I wasn't expecting it, but it was really pleasing. They don't know I have a blog, but thanks to all of them anyway. I used to hate my birthdays but this year, it was amazing! :D

Birthday book haul!

I also got a necklace, tea and my boyfriend got me something really unexpected but exciting... A quill! Like yes, of course I want it. I still haven't got the chance to use it, but soon ;) He also preordered me Flamecaster by Cinda Williams Chima (!!), a book we've been dying to get our hands on since Fall 2014, when it was first announced!

The third week was full of culture for me. I went to an exhibition about Moses with my religions' history class, because we have a paper to write about a representation of Moses. During the week-end, I went to the theater for the "Festival des Nuits Baroques", which is basically representations of 16th-17th centuries plays. A few years ago they were playing Twelth Night but it was genderbent, it was so much fun. Anyway, they were presenting their project for the next five years, it was really interesting.

A mini-theater to explain the theater compagny's new project

Nature in the hall where        I bought myself a new candle,
they explained the project         this one is orange blossom

My month was filled with food, I don't really know why. I went to the restaurant a couple times and even cooked/baked, which was so much fun! I hope I'll be able to continue with that next month, so I'll make a habit of it.

Eating crêpes in Le Touquet.                                           Memphis Coffee, inspired by 1950's USA.
It's actually my favourite food :)                                 They had comics pictures everywhere, I loved it!

I baked scones for the first time (!!)                                  I had sushis for lunch with a friend last week,
It was so good! Shoutout                                                                 it changes from sandwiches!
                                          to my mom's teapot, haha!

I'm supposed to be on holidays since the 26th, but I had a huge test on the 29th when we were like over 2.000 people, which was insane! But now, I have the rest of the week off! :)

Reading-wise, I had such an amazing month! I read my firsts 5 stars books of the year, Frozen Tides and A Gathering of Shadows, which wasn't that surprising, but still! I also buddy read two books with Geraldine @ Corralling Books, we had so much fun. We read A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab (reread for me) and Touch of Power by Maria V. Snyder (reread for her). I loved that we did it together, and we'll keep going with the rest of the Healer trilogy. Thank you, Geraldine, I love buddy reading books with you <3

Flights of Fantasy → 15/50. I was on a major fantasy kick this month, I'll be done with this challenge in June, haha. Only two of the books I read weren't fantasy, so yes, I got crazy this month. I'm not listing them up because it would be way too long, but they're on my challenge page.

Retelling challenge → 2/20. I only read Reign of Shadows this month, I'm so bad and need to catch up on this challenge! But I enjoyed the book, which is always great :) Moreover, I'm currently reading the Forbidden Wish, which totally countsfor the challenge!

'16 debut author challenge5/15. I read Assassin's Heart, Rebel of the Sands and These Vicious Masks this month, I really liked the first one but was a little disappointed in the second, which is a bummer since I was so excited... These Vicious Masks was great, but it was set in Victorian England, so no surprise here! Oh and I posted multiple links in this month's link-up because I had forgotten to do it in January *hides*.

It was a TV show month, I watched zero movies, but it's what happens most of the time, haha! All the TV shows mentionned are airing right now, so I'm constantly catching up. I'm not up-to-date with every TV show I mentionned though (the Flash & Legens of Tomorrow), so no spoilers please :)

The Flash (S2) - Arrow (S4) - DC's Legends of Tomorrow (S1) - The Chronicles of Shannara (S1)- Supergirl (S1) - New Girl (S5) - The Big Bang Theory (S9) - Shadowhunters (S1)

I also started the second season of Agent Carter recently and wow I had missed this show so much!

Last month, I created a "TBR for the month" shelf on my Goodreads page, because it's so much easier to keep track of my TBR this way!

Starflight by Melissa Landers
The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine
Prisoner of Night and Fog by Anne Blankman
Scent of Magic by Maria V. Snyder
Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson
The School for Good and Evil by Soman Chainani

As always, I'm excited for new releases and you can find my list for all the books I'm anticipating in March here. I'm not sure which ones I'll get to, except Lady Midnight, a must for me!

Top 3 March releases I'm excited for:
1. Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare
2. The Winner's Kiss by Marie Rutkoski
3. Into the Dim by Janet B. Taylor

How was your month? Which books did you get to? Any plans for March?

Twenty is hugeee - happy birthday! Can't believe I didn't wish you one earlier! Your birthday sounds so nice - I'm glad you had a great time! :D
Sounds like you had a jam-packed month - I love that you showcased food photos, because FOOD IS LIFE <3
You definitely had such a great reading month - I was actually super blown away with how fast you were getting through books, especially when you said you had exams coming up I think?
It was honestly so cool buddy reading both books with you - I could just spill all my feels haha if I needed to xD I can't wait to read Scent of Magic with you this month! :D

    1. Thank you! Well, better late than ever and you wished it at least! When is your birthday? :)
Yes food is life :D By the way I baked carrot cake for the first time on Wednesday and my whole family and one of my mom's colleagues loved it, it was so good! Cooking is great, but I don't really have time for that most of the time, which is such a bummer. Let's say it's a late 2016 resolution ;)
I don't have exams yet (they're scheduled for May), but I have a lot of assignements for the next couple of weeks (like seven?)... But I'm like: "Okay I'll write that part of my essay and then I'll read a little". Like right now I was doing my assignement for Monday and I have a little break to reply to comments, you know what I mean? :) But I've been so late on comments and reading blogs lately because of all my homework, I do it every four to five days, I hate that, ugh.
Yes, I can't wait for Scent of Magic!!! :D
I can't wait for Lady Midnight, I have so many feels already and I don't have it yet, aaaaah. But I don't think I'll have it on the release date, because of Book Depository shipping, I'll probably have it a week late *cries*
Thank you, I hope you'll have a great month too, even if it'll be hectic with uni :)
